Discover St. James AME Church

Our vision is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating environments where people are encouraged and equipped to pursue intimacy with God, community with other believers, and influence with non-believers.

Rev. Dr. Alesia Scott Ford-Burse

The Rev. Dr. Alesia Scott Ford-Burse has been involved in the African Methodist Episcopal Church for over thirty years, beginning in her home church, Allen Temple AME in Tampa, Florida.

Under the leadership of our Pastor, St. James has been renewed with a “yes we can spirit”. Reverend Ford-Burse encourages each of us, young and old, to find, and use our gifts to give glory to our Savior! Reverend Ford-Burse reminds us daily that if we commit to God, God will commit to us. Reverend Ford also tells us to pray and not cease! She uses prayer as a tool for problem solving and direction from Jesus Christ. Reverend Ford-Burse sincerely believes in the power of prayer.

Since being appointed to St. James, Rev. Ford-Burse has brought us leaps and bounds as a body of believers. Thank God for a praying, teaching, and preaching woman of God who is doing GREAT THINGS at St. James. We are looking forward to many many years with Reverend Ford-Burse who loves the Lord and the St. James family.
